This is Why I am passionate about
Wilderness Early Learning Center”

“This is Why” Campaign! Week 5

Wilderness Early Learning Center reflects the values of inclusiveness, respect, joy in learning, and collaboration that I strive to instill in myself and my children.  I believe our world should operate the way Wilderness Early Learning Center does.

Donna Wynn serves on The Acorn School’s Board of Directors and is an Acorn parent of two, Lola, age 3, and Lainey, age 9 months

One of my favorite quotes is “It takes a village to raise a child”.  I feel that Wilderness Early Learning Center is my village.  As a parent, my children are my most precious gift.  It is so comforting to know that they are being cared for by a group of people who are also passionate about my children’s growth.
My husband and I both work full time while raising our daughters, ages nine months and three.  Life can be very busy; sometimes just doing the day-to-day basics can be difficult.  I choose to find the time and energy to support The Acorn School because I want to be part of something visionary and great.
All children are welcome here, even if they don’t fit into a certain economic or developmental “box”.  Wilderness Early Learning Center has found a way to open its doors to a variety of children from our community.

Wilderness Early Learning Center is about family and community.  The collaboration with all of the early learning support services in one location is just amazing.  We could not have found a better place for our daughters to learn and grow in this most critical point in their lives.  Wilderness Early Learning Center is a great vehicle, and the teachers, staff, specialists, and therapists are the best drivers.  This is why I am a Wilderness parent and one of the newest members of the board of directors for The Acorn School.  I could not be more excited about the future of The Acorn School and the Wilderness Early Learning Center project.
