This is Why I am passionate about
Wilderness Early Learning Center”

“This is Why” Campaign! Week 6

As long as I can remember, I have wanted to work with children.  I love caring for them, learning from them, and guiding them.
I began as an Elementary school teacher, but realized as my third child was going through preschool, that this age was my true calling.  I have been studying about and working in Early Childcare for 5 years
now and feel so blessed to be currently working in the infant room at The Acorn School.
Amy Harman is the Infant Nursery Supervisor at The Acorn Scho
Being a part of this school and Wilderness Early Learning Center has been a wonderful step in my life and career, especially in relation to my interest in NAEYC and my work with their local chapter, BCAEYC.
The top three reasons I love Wilderness are:
1. First and foremost are the wonderful children.  Every one of them is so special, full of potential, and blessed to have such wonderful families to care for them.
2. The families at Wilderness are simply terrific.  I have had the honor of meeting and getting to know many of them.  I hope to grow in my relationships with them over the coming years.
3. Finally, our teachers and staff are yet another reason why I love this school.  I am honored to be teaching amidst such an educated and devoted staff.  I appreciate all of the different perspectives they have to offer, special talents, ideas, and creativity.  I will learn a lot from my time here with them.

Seeing the children in my care each day brings me true joy, and I thank all of you for that.  I support The Acorn School and its mission in providing quality care for children and working toward higher standards in the field of early childhood education.
